PICTURES TO LOOK AT!
The gallery pages show some examples of the more interesting repair and custom building work that I have done. Most of it is recent as I only started taking pics of my work when I started the website. I will add more pics as work is completed and when guitars I have made come in for servicing. New images will be added during Sept... but more piccies are to follow.
Just click on the thumbnail image of your choice to be taken to the full size picture.

REPAIRS WORKSHOP
If you want to go straight into prices for repairs and servicing, the Workshop Prices page gives a detailed description of exactly what is included in the most popular jobs that I undertake and will help you to evaluate the level of service you receive for your money in comparison with other luthiers... just check it out and see exactly what a professional set-up includes for example!

TO TWEAK OR NOT TO TWEAK?
The Technical Page is definitely worth a look if you want to get a bit more... er... technical!

Just in case you were wondering... the "neon" image of a guitar (above/left) was made from a picture of the '62 Strat shown being re-fretted in the repairs gallery!

I can actually make your guitar glow the same way in real life.. but it'll cost a whole lot more!

Did you know....

I don't often advertise this fact but for years now, as most of my customers will already know, when you bring your guitar in for a "Class A" set-up or a "re-fret" at SGL Guitars, you are not just getting fantastic quality work, you are also securing yourself SIX MONTHS of FREE after sales service and adjustments to take account of changes in playing environments and string choices and variations in climate.

So you need not worry about digging deep into your pocket every time you visit me.. How's that for peace of mind!

NEWS & LATEST:

March 20088

Tip of the month:

Re-Stringing?:

When re-stringing your instrument, DON'T push the end of the string through the hole in the machinehead more than once thinking it will give more stable tuning... it won't. Three tight winds around the capstan will be all you need... if the tuning is STILL unstable, the problem is elswhere. See the TECHNICAL PAGE for more details.

Get your Band Photographed:

Another service that SGL Guitars is proud to promote is professional photo shoots for promo posters, flyers and album covers.
A gallery of example photo shoots is being assmbled and will be posted to the website by end of March, so watch this space!

Duffy the Cat.. 1990 - 2007

Sad news. Duffy who became very well known to my regular customers and their children who have become familiar and good friends with our 'Large' friendly cat, sadly passed away on August 1st at the age of 17. She's been through the wars recent years but made a miraculous recovery.

She had quite a fan club over the last 3 years and will be sadly missed by all who knew her.

Your younger (and older!) children might enjoy the story of Duffy the Cat! click for more...
